My bank reached $130 today. I’ve gotten pretty good at tripling up at the $.05/$.10 tables (with a $2 buy-in), and my wife has gotten really good at $1 tournaments, placing in a money position about 50% of the time.
I’m really anxious to move up to the next level, but I still don’t think I’m ready to [...]

I broke $100 for the first time today!
After the big (for my standards) tourney win a couple days ago, I’ve been doing really well at the tables. I feel like I’m really starting to get better, but I’m reminded that whenever I start to feel like this, it’s usually following by some really tough breaks — [...]

Came across an interesting article on Holdemsecrets.com
I know poker is a post-flop game, but I obssess over starting hands quite a bit. This article on Types of Starting Hands makes it simple by categorizing the hands by their Win Percentage. Quick summary list is below, with Win% in parentheses, but I highly recommend you read the [...]

So, I’m a dummy. The I’d been doing pretty well for a while at the micro-level tourneys and tables. I play with my wife and we’re pretty conservative about what we get into.
I decided the other night however, that I should try my hand at some big money. I know, I know, this is a [...]

Too Much Poker After Dark?
Posted in Hold'em Strategy, The Road on April 8, 2008 | No Comments »
I went on a serious losing streak the other day. I went from about $70 to about $30 in a couple of hours. I was trying my hand at the $.10/$.25 tables and I was just playing too loose. Trying to steal pots, bluffing, or raising with middle pair. I also got sucked out of some really strongs [...]
WPT Boot Camp

I can’t believe I’m really considering this, but does anyone have thoughts on the WPT Boot Camp? I would think i’d be immensely helpful, but I dont know. That’s like, a real statement. It’s like I’m saying that I want to really do this poker thing. For real.
Not sure if I’m ready for that…

I havent been posting for a while- had some personal issues come up. Here’s a recep on where we stand…
I’ve been playing for about 3 1/2 months. I moved to real money about a month ago and it’s going ok. I started with $50 at Full Tilt and I proceeded to lose that fairly quickly. [...]
