Some nights I just can’t catch a good hand.
First, my 11 yr old son starts talking smack about how he’s better than me at poker so I challenged him to a one hour pokerthon (I’m not sure that’s a word people use, but it seems appropriate). He took my stack 3 times in an hour. I’m not sure whether I should be embarrased, or extremely proud (he played really well) but it was a bad start to the night either way.
Then, I’m playing at Full Tilt today and I think I won maybe three hands the whole night. I even had to refill my play money at the cashier (something I haven’t had to do at PokerStars since I first started). So lame.
As far as the game play at Full Tilt- I have to say I rather enjoy it. I think the players are slightly better. The interface is more attractive. The avatars are fun, and I really like how I can look at hand history in a nice visual format.
They really push you to start playing for real money and I’m a little worried about that. I’m not real good at self-control.
I told myself I wouldn’t start playing for real money until I got good enough to place in a tourney. Maybe that’s dumb- I don’t know- but I still have a lot of really basic stuff to learn and I’d rather not start losing real money yet.
I really did beat him he lost so babdly. He does do good though.
